As part of South Bank Colleges' celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, students at Lambeth College took part in a Sip and Paint event—an inspiring and creative enrichment activity designed to promote self-expression, confidence-building, and empowerment.

Led by women’s empowerment coach Kes Sims from Worthy Women’s World, the session encouraged female students to explore their inner strength, self-worth, and positivity through art and guided discussions.

Sip and Paint 2025

A Creative Journey to Self-Empowerment

With paintbrushes in hand and soft drinks to sip, students were guided through a painting session where they used colours and shapes to reflect their emotions and aspirations. Kes encouraged them to tap into their creativity, with some choosing rainbows to express happiness while others painted portraits to reflect self-image. It wasn’t just about making art—it was about embracing their individuality and celebrating their strengths.

Throughout the session, students participated in confidence-building exercises, reinforcing positive self-perception and a sense of community. The event created a safe and encouraging space, allowing students to share their experiences and uplift one another.

The Best Bits

Expression Through Art: Students used painting as a tool for self-discovery, with every brushstroke reflecting their emotions, dreams, and personal journey.

💡 Confidence & Positivity: Through Kes’ coaching, students engaged in self-affirmation exercises, leaving with a sense of pride and empowerment.

🎨 A Colourful Reflection: From bold, vibrant rainbows symbolising joy to thoughtful self-portraits, each artwork was unique—just like its creator.

🥤 Relax & Reflect: With soft drinks in hand, students enjoyed a relaxed and reflective atmosphere, taking time to discuss their artwork and the empowerment messages of the day.

A Lasting Impact

The Sip and Paint event at Lambeth College was much more than a creative workshop—it was a celebration of individuality, self-expression, and female empowerment. Here’s to embracing self-expression and empowerment—one brushstroke at a time! 🎨💜
