Celebrating success in winning the All-London Cup
South Bank Colleges Basketball Team travelled from London to Paris from the 15th July – 20th July to celebrate the success in winning the All-London Cup and also coming second in the league. We travelled by coach/ferry and arrived in Paris at 0900am. Players enjoyed the warm weather, relaxed environment and visiting traditional sights (such as the Louvre, boat ride along the Seine, Pompidou, Versailles Palace, Eiffel Tower, Arc du Triomphe). They visited many sights by hiring scooters and moving around the city quickly. In addition, they played a local college in Noisy le Sec (East of Paris) and the team enjoyed making friends and sporting connections. Due to the heat, which topped 40 degrees on one day, they also went swimming as a group twice as there was an outdoor swimming pool on the same road as the hotel. Many of the players said by the second day that it was the best trip that they had ever been on and said that it has made them want to travel and learn another language so they can interact more with strangers/friends. Students came back tired yet with many good memories of their trip abroad.
