Why join us on the Mental Health Awareness course?
This course is a fantastic gateway that can allow progression to a number of qualifications in areas where mental health awareness is of importance; such as the qualifications we have in in health and social care, counselling, community work, youth work, childcare, and education. If these are areas you a hoping to get into, then this course is a great starting point to put you on the right path.
One of the many great things about this course is that we welcome applications from learners of any background or industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to start building your prospects to enter your desired industry and with the course also being part-time, it is especially suited to learners with exisiting work, study or home-life commitments.
How will the course delivered?
In usual circustmances, this course is designed to be highly interactive and engaging with a two day workshop and a combination of groupwork and roleplays.
What do the lecturers say?
My students are always engaged in the lessons and I think it speaks to how relatable the modules are. It's great to know that they are keen to use their skills and knowledge to help others going forward. Next year, we are looking forward to make the course more accesible to all by delivering it with a mixture of online and classroom learning.
- Sham Minhas, Mental Health Awareness lecturer at Lambeth College
What do the students think?
The most valuable thing that I have taken away from the course is positive information that can be forwarded on to individuals in letting them know it's okay to not to be okay and there is help out there for them. So to offer support without judgment. Also where to gain more information for mental health suffered that may be suffering in silence due to shame or fear.
