This is the 1st event of its kind at LSBU to promote the importance of controlling high blood pressure, especially for people from an African or Caribbean heritage and to mark World Kidney Day. The university is working with Gift of Living Donation (GOLD) a Black community organisation.
On the day, students and staff will have the opportunity to:
- have their blood pressure checked by their Community Ambassadors
- receive resources on blood pressure, nutrition, and exercise
- attend an afrobeats interactive dance session
- hear the stories from people who have experienced high blood pressure and kidney disease
Everyone is very welcome, our students, staff members and anyone else who happens to be reading this!
There is no need to register, just show up.
