Travel and Tourism took a trip to Spain as it is one of the leading destinations for UK visitors. Students selected 3 destinations to visit including:
Salou – Beach Resort and theme park
Salou is a coastal/beach destination with two theme parks: Portventura and Ferrari land. Learners had the opportunity to explore the beach, resort and tourist facilities in Salou. They particularly loved the theme park attached to their accommodation and spent time riding tall roller coasters; thereby getting a great insight into purposed built visitor attraction and accommodation.
Barcelona – City Break
Learners spent a day in Barcelona on coach tour of the key site: Sagda Familia – Gaudi’s uncompleted masterpiece of a church, sightseeing and taking in the views of the city. It was an afternoon filled with exploring the most popular street of La Rambla.
Tarrogona – UNESCO heritage site
At Tarrongona, students spent a day exploring the ancient heritage town of Tarragona with its well preserved Roman ruins and shopping centre. Some learners were more impressed with Primark than the Roman ruins.
