Would you like to advance to Higher Education but are worried that your level of qualifications is a barrier? If you answered yes to any of those questions, and are aged 19 or over, then we have the perfect course to help you achieve your goals.
The Level 3 Access to HE Diploma in Civil Engineering is a one-year qualification designed to give you a direct route into Higher Education. Whether that be to study for a Bachelor's Degree, or a Higher National Diploma, in civil engineering, construction or architecture.
On this course you will learn a range of practical and technical skills; develop your knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of civil engineering; and receive a thorough overview of the built environment. You will study a number of topics essential to a career in the civil engineering sector, including construction technology, engineering materials, site and brief analysis, land surveys, sustainability, computer aided design (CAD), and health and safety.
More than just industry-specific learning, the Level 3 Access to HE Diploma will also teach you educational skills and study tools, in order to further help you in your progression to Higher Education and university. These skills include report writing, research, essay writing, communication skills, word processing, and examination skills designed to help you prepare for, and succeed in, exam situations.
What experience and skills will you gain?
You will study a mix of civil engineering topics and general educational-skills.

What do you need to apply?
- 4 GCSE qualifications at grades A*-C or 9-4, including English Language
- Level 2 vocational qualification and a Level 2 English qualification

You will be assessed by a combination of practical assessments, coursework, project work, and examinations.
