If you want a career as a bricklayer or builder, or to work in the construction industry in general, then the Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying is a great place for you to start.
This course will teach you a combination of practical skills and theory; developing your construction knowledge while giving you hands-on building experience. The practical sessions are held in our fully-equipped workshop and you will learn how to build with both bricks and blocks, starting with basic brick corners and working up to cavity walling.
You will also develop your knowledge of the construction industry with classroom-based sessions.
You will learn everything from the principles of construction, communication, and health and safety, through to block laying and bricklaying, cavity walling, building masonry structures, and damp proofing.
The Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying is designed to give you the basic knowledge and core skills you need to work safely and confidently in the construction industry, and is ideally suited to those of you who want to progress on to further training or an apprenticeship.
All 16-18 years old who do not have min GCSE grade 4 or Level 2 Functional skills in both English and maths will be required to study English and maths alongside their vocational qualification. Additionally you will be required to complete min 45 hours of work experience.
