The Level 3 Award in Health and Social Care is designed to set you on your developmental journey to higher-level qualifications and Higher Education, and open up an exciting new world of highly rewarding careers in the health and social care sector.
This theory-based course will introduce you to a number of core health and social care topics, and develop your knowledge in three key subject areas, each vital to a successful career as a health and social care professional. The units you will study are equality, diversity and rights; human growth and development; and safeguarding.
You'll develop specialised knowledge in essential areas such as inclusive working; legislation and codes of practice; significant life events within each stage of human development; factors that may contribute to an individual being vulnerable to harm or abuse; signs, symptoms, indicators and behaviours that may cause concern; and gain an in-depth understanding of the role and responsibilities of a health and social care practitioner.
This course can be studied as a standalone qualification - providing you with a fully-recognised health and social care Level 3 Award - or can provide you with the perfect platform to advance to the Level 3 Certificate; where you'll have the opportunity to undertake real-life work experience.

What do you need to apply?
4 GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) at grade C or 4 or above or Equivalent Level 2 vocational qualification at merit/pass or above

How will you be assessed?
You will be required to create a portfolio of evidence during the course, which will be assessed, and be graded in three mandatory units.

Where can this course take you?
This qualification can lead to employment in a wide range of roles, in health and social care environments such as registered care homes, community work, the voluntary sector, social work, hospitals or primary care trusts.
After successfully passing the Level 3 Award in Health and Social Care, you may wish to consider progressing on to the Level 3 Certificate, and then on to the Level 3 Extended Diploma; which can provide you with a direct route in to Higher Education. You could then specialise in an area such as social work, counselling, public health, nursing, psychology, or occupational therapy.
